How does the past shape the world you live in today? And what role can you play in the future of remembrance in Europe?
On 2–3 March 2026, the LRE Youth Forum brings together young people from across the Netherlands and Europe in Nijmegen for two days of exchange, reflection, and dialogue on history, memory, and contemporary challenges.
Set in a city deeply shaped by the Second World War, the forum offers a space to connect past and present. Together with peers from different countries, you will explore how histories of war and violence continue to resonate today and reflect on the role young people play in shaping the future of remembrance in Europe.
Through shared discussions, workshops, and encounters with historical places, you are invited to engage critically with memory - not as something fixed, but as something lived, questioned, and passed on.…

The LRE Youth Forum is an opportunity to meet others who are curious about history and its meaning today, exchange perspectives across borders, and take part in a collective reflection on why history matters, and how it can inform action, responsibility, and solidarity across Europe.
