Dit zijn de winnaars van InScience Film Festival 2026

Tijdens de elfde editie van InScience Film Festival in Nijmegen zijn de prestigieuze InScience Awards uitgereikt aan de meest inspirerende wetenschapsfilms.

De InLab International Jury Award werd gewonnen door Aminatou Echards film The Big Everything, met een eervolle vermelding voor Hannah Papacek Harpers Lost for Words. Over de film van Echards zei de jury, bestaande uit Anupama Srinivisan, Maria Stuut, Ondřej Kazík en Teun Bousema: "Op een diep persoonlijke en indringende manier confronteert deze film de familiegeschiedenis met een heldere, eerlijke blik. In een boeiende combinatie van archiefmateriaal, interviews met verschillende generaties en geluidsopnames brengt deze film cruciale thema's tot leven waarmee we worstelen, en vermengt deze op artistieke en aangrijpende wijze met de hedendaagse realiteit van jongeren in Niger. De film draagt ​​daarmee op een frisse en betekenisvolle manier bij aan het debat over dekolonisatie."

De InSights NTR Audience Award, waarvoor het publiek stemde, werd uitgereikt aan Maasja Ooms' documentaire My Word Against Mine. De film is geproduceerd door Cerutti Film. Cinema Delicatessen brengt vanaf 26 maart de film landelijk uit onder de naam Mijn woord tegen het mijne. De winnaar van de InShort Student Jury Award is Niko Radaš's Psychonauts. De jury, bestaande uit Melisa Yilmaz, Sumi Im, Antonis Lappas en Marta Ločmele, prees de originaliteit, sterke artistieke visie, het vakmanschap en de diepe verbinding tussen de esthetische keuzes en de boodschap.

De Klokhuis Wetenschapsprijs 2026 werd zondag ook uitgereikt aan het onderzoeksproject "Hand in Hand tegen de spanning". De prijsuitreiking vond plaats in de Mariënburg Bibliotheek.

Het InScience Film Festival gaat verder met zijn satellieteditie in Visum Mundi in Wageningen van 12 tot en met 15 maart. Volgend jaar zijn we terug in Nijmegen van 2 tot en met 7 maart 2027, waar we het thema MONEY zullen verkennen.

In an engaging combination of archived material, interviews with different generations, and audio recordings, this film brings to life crucial themes we are grappling with, melding it artistically and poignantly with the contemporary realities of young people in Niger. The film thereby takes forward the discourse on decolonisation in a fresh and meaningful way."

The InSights NTR Audience Award, voted for by the public, was awarded to Maasja Ooms' documentary My Word Against Mine. The film was produced by Cerutti film and will appear in Dutch theatres from 26 March on under its Dutch title.. The winner of the InShort Student Jury Award is Niko Radaš's Psychonauts. The InScience Film Festival continues with its satellite edition at Visum Mundi in Wageningen from March 12 to 15. Next year, we will return to Nijmegen from March 2 to 8, 2027, where we will explore the theme of Money.
